A late update on 2010 Changchun OIP

8.12.12 Saturday

Found this "sort-of-incomplete" diary I wrote during 2010 Changchun trip while I was packing. Leaving boarding tmr. Yup following are the updates:

14.11.10 Sunday
Location: Beijing
Weather: cold - around 18 degree Celcius

(At Beijing airport I think) I couldn't help shivering..

Location: Changchun
Weather: very cold - temperature: negative value

@ At 長春龍嘉機場,曲柯宇 saw me and called my name. I was very surprised because I have never expected him to remember me. After all, I spent most of the time with the girls (ahem ..) when they came over to RI in July.

@ Walked out of the airport, wow! It was freezing cold! We could "smoke without cigarettes" ... I wanted to take a picture of us 吞雲吐霧 but unfortunately the battery of my camera died due to the very low temperature. (was it just me or my language was really poor? somehow I find it awkward haha.. well, it was written 2 years ago :P)

@ First time I see snow!

@ The welcoming lunch was luxurious! Lobster, huge fish and some other dishes that we had no idea of what they were! This lunch made the welcoming lunch back there in RI look worthless ... However, only 李鵬老師,XXX校長(還是副校長?),曲柯宇 and another student joined us for the lunch. Unlike in RI where all the buddies joined them for the welcoming lunch.

@ traffic lights are kinda useless because no one really cares.

@ 王皓辰 is my buddy

@ walked back to his house as he stayed near school

@ There was another girl who walked together with me, 姜佳慧. She is the monitor of my buddy's class.

@ We walked past the 文化廣場 which is just beside the school

@ There is a giant TV in the 文化廣場

@ My buddy also told me that some of the buildings in the city were there since the Japanese colonised this place, eg.

@ I like the city. It looks very wide and comfortable.

@ The sky starts to get dark around 4pm

@ Walking on the layer of ice needs skill. Be aware of slipping!

@ First time saw a frozen lake.

@ Had snow fight with 皓辰. It was fun but my feet and hands froze to numbness.

@ The family stays in a building (something like "rumah pangsa") which looks very old. But never judge a book by its cover. The interior of the house is wide and beautiful!

@ They thought we are totally westernised - only western food like steak etc. but not Chinese food. They also thought that I couldn't use chopsticks and speak Chinese - They thought Malaysians can't speak Chinese.

@ At night bed time, it was very quiet. I missed the sound of the fan spinning at night!

15.11.10 Monday
Location: Changchun
Weather: very cold - around -7 degree Celcius

@ Carrying out the English lessons was quite fun when the students were more willing to participate in the activities. Even though we had the lesson plan, some of the time we had to impromptu so as to cheer up the atmosphere or to explain the meanings or concepts of the words more clearly. Proud of myself that I could suddenly come out with the idea of Ah Ming to explain the idea of "conclusion". (hmmm.. whatever that is ..) Though I wasn't sure if it got the result/outcome as expected. Hopefully tomorrow's Maths lessons will be better.

@ Attended one period of history lesson. It was about 紅軍、革命英雄主義精神、戰略轉移 etc. which I didn't fully understand. Anyway, I dislike history.

@ Visited the school's toilet, wow it was scary! no toilet paper, no water tap in the cubicle and the pieces of wood that separate the cubicles are so low that the people inside can see each other. That is really weird!

@ 王皓辰 told me some tales about dumplings.

@ Chuan Kai's buddy, 肖博予 said he is the top badminton player in Changchun and wants to challenge me. Tomorrow I am gonna have a friendly game with him after school. Hope I can still play well though. After all I haven't been training for quite a while.

Ooops guess I only recorded the first two days in Changchun, China. :P

First Ever RJBT Outing

4.12.12

Thanks to Kern Hong who "happened to have no food in his room and happened to look for food in my room", we managed to have a RJBT'12 outing at Sentosa. It was an awesome outing even though not everybody managed to turn up.

At first I was worried that the outing might be boring as I really had no idea what we were going to do at the beach although we brought along a ball and a frisbee disc. Like really, what is there to do at the beach man? But we ended up enjoying the whole morning playing frisbee and ball in the sea. Phew, thanks guys for being sporty :)

More importantly, because of this outing, we talk again, as if there was nothing happening between us. Well, at least this drama ended on a good note!

Really happy to have "organised" this outing. It makes me realise (I always know) how much I miss the team, really. I am really really glad to see the team today! :)

ps: I am like a lobster now.

I Am Not Mocking!

Recently, a friend of mine who was from the national badminton team was giving out his badminton shirt (named and not named) because his wardrobe overflowed. Being my opponent and friend, I asked for his shirt. To me, getting a named shirt of my friends implies that I am proud to have a friend like this and part of me hope that I will never forget this friend. There isn't anything related to whether you are pro-er or lousier, which I think that is what most other people think. When I asked for their named shirts, both this friend from the national team and my junior said the same thing (jokingly of course), "you serious arh? don't mock me leh.." Haha, so is that how all other players think when they exchange shirts: "this guy is strong, I want his named shirt..." ?? Haha well I don't really care about this, that I know. I want the shirts because I really appreciate the friendships.

Anyway, As OVERRRR!!

I Can Smell The Freedom

My A-levels exam is ending in three days time! (Poor Bio kids haha) There are only the last two papers left: Chem and Physics MCQs. ... Buttt, most people have already been playing as though As are already over! And I haven't been doing anything useful ever since my last paper on last Tuesday except one or two practices.

While I hope that 28.11.12 1515 comes asap, it also occurs to me that after that day at exactly that time, there will be no more mugging in the canteen and no more school uniform until perhaps when uni starts. What am I gonna do then? Read the whole day? Watch videos the whole day? Go out with friends every single day? Nah, I rather spend time outdoor than reading the whole day. The speed of downloading videos may not be able to match my speed of watching them. And I don't really think I have so many friends to hang out with everyday .. hmmm I guess. Perhaps I should just be a good boy and start cleaning my room and packing. Whatttt a chore. If I ever gonna have the mood to start doing it.

But life after leaving boarding will be much exciting! Finally after 4 years I will be leaving RIB aka "jail" and there will be NO MORE CURFEW! Gonna stay over at my friends' places and friends gonna stay over at my place (Yes, in Ipoh.). Plans settled all the way till next year. Just thinking about it makes me hope that NOW THIS DAY THIS TIME AT THIS MOMENT it is already 28.11.12 1515.

Haha freedom is near.

One Day Before As

4.11.12 Sunday

TIME FLIES! It feels like Prelims was just over and now As is starting tomorrow! On one hand I kept getting worried about the GP papers tomorrow: What if out of the 12 essay questions I can't even do any of them? What if I can't answer the AQ? What if ... But on the other hand, I have kinda given up studying already -_- Sigh, 船到桥头自然直 ba..

Malaysian juniors had a farewell party for the J2s yesterday night.. It made me feel so regret to not have spent more time with them throughout the 2-3 years.. I should have realised that the Malaysian community should be given the top priority, because there is where all our people, all Malaysians, are.. Not saying that I shouldn't mix around with people in school, but this shouldn't be the priority, right? Haha I don't know.. Things are over and there is no point being regret over it. Just bear in mind next time that what is really the most important thing that I want (though I have told myself this N times) .. Anyway, I did make close friends in these four years, right? (say yes ^_^)

I sometimes just can't accept that 4 years have passed and it is time to say good bye! Really wish that I could spend more time in school .. True, studies have stressed us into craziness, but amidst all the busy schedules, have we not had fun with the people around us, have we not spent our valuable time with our loved ones, have we not had those memories with our friends which we might (or might not) cherish for the rest of our life?

RJBT juniors are another group of people whom I really don't feel like leaving.. As I mentioned in my previous post, somehow I feel really close to RJBT'12, a team that really gave me the sense of belonging to a team. While there are quite a number of arguments, cold wars and times when I get pissed with certain people, I guess that doesn't affect how much I like the team la really ^_^ Just feeling a bit sad that I probably won't be seeing them soon :( [And I wonder how long he wants the cold war to continue? Does he have to do this to me in my last year? I am leaving school soon :(]

Well, thinking about after As, there will be hell lots of fun! Gotta hobo at different people's houses and have plans for things that I don't get to do when I am still in boarding!

Excited and looking forward to after As already!

KK time to get back to mugging.

Post-Prelims ~^_^~

It is a really looooong gap between this and the previous post! Now I understand why my friends' blogs all stopped in June. Because during these few months, all the J2s were doing were mugging, mugging and mugging. There was just no time for blogging. Even if there was, it might as well be used to study. Sigh, it was really like hell..

A lot of things happened during this period but this is the time for post-prelims celebration! Got a 6-day break and almost everyday is planned for something:

Monday: PW lunch (sushi buffet!!), playing board games

Tuesday: outing with forgy

Wednesday: outing with primary school friends (Harry Potter Exhibition)

Thursday: 12S06H class outing

What a fulfilling week (Y)

Some people are using the time to mug for SATs, write essays for uni applications etc.. And I should too! Should do some sketching for portfolio if I want to apply to SUTD. But I am just too lazy sigh not planning to touch any work till Friday probably ;)

Oh well see how things go :) just feel like having fun now ;)

19.5.2012

This was seriously the best birthday I could have asked for in these four years! Not as happening as other people in school but I feel really really thankful. :)

People had been passing me small packets in school the day before my birthday. Suspected that there were pieces of a jigsaw puzzle inside. Received altogether 20 packets. Was trying to figure out who was this great person who went on such great length to make everyone pass me the packets. Came to the conclusion that it was Elaine.. Smart ^^

19.5.2012 0000: received 16 smses from classmates :D (So you guys didn't forget after all!) Opened the 20 small packets and what I got were 160 pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Used 45min to put them all together haha. Okay so Yunan was involved too! Thanks Elaine and Yunan! Really appreciate the effort :D First time receiving this kind of present :)

Didn't put my birthday on facebook. Like Ye Oon said, "... want to know who your true friends are? ..." Hmmm maybe? Anyway, what's the point of having so many random people spamming my facebook wall  right :/ The funny thing was that my badminton juniors (Boon Xin, Julian, Yong Xin?) actually had a small argument of whether it was my birthday today haha XD In the end none of them wished me because they weren't sure if it really was my birthday haha. Felt really happy to know that my juniors actually bothered to remember my birthday ^_^ Thanks people! I am really grateful! Love you guys!

Ye Oon gave me HC dance night "SWAG" ticket as birthday present. Thanks bro! Haha the performance was good. Great night to spend :)

Oh yea, Kelly came to Singapore for some business stuff. So we had buffet that night!! (The previous day was finals and we had celebration at YCK Sakura, so I had buffets two days in a row woohoo!) Had buffet at Grand Park Hotel @Orchard!! Hehe high class buffet!

At night, said something like "half an hour more and it will be over" on twitter.. Haha and suddenly all my juniors spamming me tweets wishing me happy birthday ^_^

From Elaine and Yunan :)
From JiaLok

From Rasyidah

From Boon Xin

From Linnette

This week is really a freaking awesome week! RJ got 6 golds ( Tennis X2, Badminton X2, Hockey, Basketball Girls )! Badminton Double Golds! My Birthday! Haha what more could I ask for!! :)

The End of My Badminton Career

16.5.2012

Really damn excited for today. Today was the last day of holding my rackets. No matter win or lose, this is the end. Really couldn't sit still for the whole day la.. I just wanted to beat ACSI so much. I know no matter what happened I couldn't lose. I just couldn't. Not so much because we lost to them for the last two years, but because I don't want to let any single one in our team down.

I wanted to tell the team so much that "all the effort that we have put in, this is the moment.. remember that we are a team, always have faith in your teammates, put your trust in one another, help each other.. and remember that no matter what is happening in the court, there will always be a team behind you supporting you, and there is a team for you to fight for..." Haha guess in the end I didn't manage to tell the team that personally, though I had smsed that two days ago haha. But I believe that they understood. Anyway, upon knowing the line-up, I knew that this is the year that we would regain our title.

Freak, this year's finals were really damn exciting! I almost lost my voice cheering for my teammates! I couldn't even sit still! I was jumping around cheering for my teammates. Everyone was fighting so hard in the court! GREAT SPIRIT EVERYONE! THAT'S THE RJBT SPIRIT! XD

Had a really tough match today, despite my opponent having stopped training for 6 months :P But I don't care whether he had been training consistently, what was going on in my mind during the court was all about "not losing". Really, while I was losing in the second set, all I was thinking was "I must win.. My team is supporting me.. I can't let them down.. I must win..." And that I held on throughout the whole game, until I won the last point. My team really gave me the courage and gave me something to fight for.. Without them, I guess I won't have fought so hard.

Received a lot of good-jobs from friends, OGLings, classmates etc etc.. I was really so damn happy that I won. I know that I didn't let anyone down. And I know that my mission had completed. Really felt like crying after my match, I just felt so relieved! And also because of knowing the fact that all the hard work that everyone single one of us has put in would pay off, at least we were a big step closer to the title after my match. The emotion was really great that I almost cried. Not sure whether I was the only who felt that way. If it was, then it was probably because of all the stress that I had been carrying for the past few weeks. But in the end, I managed to control myself. Don't cry. haha

Finals results: Guys won 3-1, Girls won 4-1.

Thanks Ms Chang!

I was quite glad that RJ supporters finally cheered louder than the ACSI supporters haha. And I was even more glad when I found out that both badminton and tennis got double golds on the same day fighting the same opponents. :D

DOUBLE GOLDS
J2s'12
RJBT'12

J1s'12

All the problems within batches, problems across batches, problems between guys and girls, and problems between players and the coach... seriously made me stressed for weeks.. Someone asked why I was so stressed; we are going to step down soon, just let the J1s to deal with the problems. Sometimes, it is not because we are in a position that's why we care, but we care because we are a team and I care because they are my juniors. Haha sometimes I find this funny because I have actually started to care. Anyway, I guess it's time to let go.. Must focus more on studying from now on..

RJBT'12! I SERIOUSLY LOVE YOU GUYS LA <3 :'D

ps: double golds and an awesome team, the best birthday presents that I can hope for :D

Sports - Love/Hate Relationship

"People don't play sports because it's fun. Ask any athlete, most of them hate it, but they couldn't imagine their life without it. It's part of them, the love/hate relationship. It's what they live for. They live for the practices, parties, cheers, long bus rides, invitationals, countless pairs of shoes, water, Gatorade & coaches you hate but appreciate. They live for the way it feels when they beat the other team, and knowing those two extra sprints they ran in practice were worth it. They live for the way they become a family with their team, they live for the countless songs they sing in their heads while training all those hours. They live for the competition, they live for the friends, the practices, the memories, the pain, it's who they are. It's who we are."

Totally man :)

AnyBody Can Dance

ABCD is the awesomest concert I have ever attended! It wasn't like perfectly perfect, but it is still awesome ttm! Some of my streets friends were saying that they were worried because the audience was so quiet! But like Jia Lok said, "... can't cheer with your jaws dropped." Yes! The audience was in awe!

Really feel that I should have recorded it but I doubt my phone would have enough memory and battery to complete the mission. Hope someone was kind enough to record the performance and post it on youtube or something.

Seriously, I can't stress how awesome the performance was. It made me feel like... "I wish I was there on stage"! OMG I SERIOUSLY CANNOT TANK LA TOO GOOD ALREADY!!! @#$%^&* And seriously Raffles Streets is the coolest CCA in our school la (everybody is saying!) publicity was damn super good!! Posters and publicity videos are all damn cool!!! @#$%^&*

Publicity video 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OL2tLAJufOA
Publicity video 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_VKWAdSZBs

cool right! :D

Somehow, when they finished their performance, I felt really really happy. Idk, maybe I was happy that the streeters had put up a good show for us; maybe I was happy that the streeters were happy that they put up a good show for us; maybe I was happy that all the efforts my friends had put into making this performance a success had finally paid of; maybe I was happy that all their efforts are worth it; maybe ........ OMG I DON'T KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!

All I want to say is .. really.. I am glad that in exchange of the months and months of effort, the streeters get something more than just a successful concert. GREAT JOB, STREETERS! :D

Last Season Syndrome

23.4.12 Monday

Finally season has started. Haven't been feeling so emotional about a season before. It's probably because this is the last season that I am gonna have and everything will be over - the hardcore trainings and fellow awesome teammates - guess I will be missing them much.

True that I should feel glad because this will be the last month I am gonna hold my racket and after that I don't have to go for training anymore. My badminton journey will be coming to an end. However, it is the thought that I am leaving the team that pains me. Honestly, being an individualistic person who comes from an individualistic sport from an individualistic team in Malaysia, it is quite amazing, and somehow strange, that I turn out to care so much for the team. I might not have shown it (like my dad, suck at expressing myself - the gene's fault ._.), but I really like the team a lot. Probably because RJBT'12 feels more like a team.. Haha, don't ask me why and what makes me feel so. I don't know. Like I said, "Glad that it is gonna be over; also sad that it is gonna be over." How can two different extreme emotions occurring at the same time? This is it.

Really feel like doing something for the team in the remaining time that I have, but it is beyond my capability, as I know it myself that I am not capable .. in almost everything. The only things that I can do are to hope that the conflicts among the J1s can be resolved and they will be once again as close as they were, and to hope that they will continue to be awesome the way they are. Haha doesn't seem like I am saying anything meaningful here, but this is truly what I wish for la ..

J1 team guys: Jey-Ren, Julian Chee, Huin Kit, Tze Herng
J1 team girls: Siti, Sofia, Boon Xin, Yong Xin, Yong Hui, Shu Ying, Sheryl

Where I am gonna go in the future is another thing that is always on my mind. To be honest, I still love competitive badminton very much. Even though I have been saying that I wanted to quit badminton but everytime when I almost gave up, there is this urge to pick up the racket again. I wonder if this magic will still work in the future. I thought of continuing badminton as a national player in Singapore (because not good enough to be one in Malaysia ._.), partly because I still like badminton, and partly because I want to continue to have a team .. However, I also understand that it isn't easy to regain one's standard after neglecting it for so long. That's also why my friend has chosen to continue studying and not to become a national player after NS even though he has been one of the top players in Singapore. Oh well.. Continuing badminton might not be a good choice after all.. What if I can't be the creme de la creme; what if I am forced to quit badminton after I have spent so much time on it, after forgoing my studies and everything; What if I can't do anything else when I finally retire from badminton? Perhaps continue studying is the most secure and the safest choice .. Sad life man, we are so like the puppets of life .. o.O

Okai, that's all for now. Time to work on the video for my friend hehe ;)

Saw a tweet from 心情屋(@Lovehousing) that day:

但其真正用意在於:「Sometimes we build up walls not to keep people out but to see who cares enough to knock them down.」

The BIGGEST troll in my life! by the cheerleaders XD

Received msgs on whatsapp group from the cheer girls apologizing for dragging us the guys into a mess. They said that during the performance some teachers saw it and they felt that we were irresponsible and disregarded our safety. They complained to the cheer teacher IC and she wanted to see us on Friday (2.3.12).

After going through all the practices and all that, the girls and guys are kinda bonded. So a few of us were saying that its okay no worries it won't be that bad kind of things. And I was thinking that maybe I should say something to comfort them and so I said "it ok, we are all in this together." Now when I looked back, it sounded so foolish XD

On Friday, we met at the silver mirror to wait for the "teacher". Mabel was still so convincingly explaining why the teacher wanted to see us blah blah blah... And .. it turned out to be a PARTY thrown for us!! XD OMG I FELT SO STUPID!!! >< But I guess its alright haha they had fun :)

The food was good! Especially the cake Yi Huan's mom baked :) Aiya didn't take a photo of it tsk .. And can you believe it? While I have no time to study for CTs that is coming up in one week (same for most people in school), the girls actually have time to make us notes, presents. Time management so good!

Best Cheercouple: Me and Dylan -.-
(I really didn't -3- him .. Nor he me ..)

It was embarrassing ttm today but I felt really touched that they prepared the surprise party for us :D

Cheerleading?

Didn't want to help them out at first because ykr cheerleading isn't relly a guy thing haha at least in our school.. Another reason was that I really not strong enough to lift people up (I think? XP) But Jesslyn kept badgering me asking me to help them out so in the I gave up and said, "Okay la okay la..."

Well, it turned out to be actually quite fun, especially the people in the cheer squad: Yi Huan (I always caught her awkward moments XD), Jesslyn (the crazy one), Gillian, Sharley, Lianne and Wen Jun (didn't really know her because she only went for prac once). They are damn nice. They actually wrote notes to thank us the guys. Was surprised haha.

My main role was catching .. Not the game running and catching but really catching people who are falling haha. Right shoulder muscle hurt.. So scared that I got injured but after using the counter pain that Amelia lent me it sort of recovered.. wow 神啊!haha

There were people who laughed at us who helped out for the cheerleading. Well, won't write down what they said here. At that moment, the only thing in my mind was that no matter what I won't quit because I have promised them and thus it is my responsibility. I don't want to disappoint anyone... unlike some people ... Let them laugh man this is an experience that I have in RJ, a unique one. Imagine that the few of us were the only guys who ever got to help out with the cheer squad, how special is that! :D

After all the suffering (muscle aching) fun moments, glad that the performance itself turned out really great. And the cheerleaders said it was their best performance :D Hooray!

Dancefeste 2012 - So You Think You Can't Dance?

Finally Dancefeste is over! It was really a very fun experience doing fun and retarded dance with a group of crazy people :D Guess this would be my last on-stage performance in my RJ life. touch wood. Didn't want to join this team at first because it wasn't the kind of dance that I wanted to do. Well, in the end I decided to because like what Ras said, "Even if it's for fun and not serious ... you can take your chance to work on your confidence cos every time you perform, it's a new experience." True enough, I didn't regret joining them :D

Due to the nature of this dance, we were supposed to have spastic expressions on our faces (Qiao Yoke was the best!). That was how my face cramp came about haha was practicing damn hard the night before XD Must be due to the lack of use of my face muscles, my face was still having spasm during the performance haha ... But.... I was trying hard kay :)

That night was the first time I saw RI Audi so full of people. There wasn't even enough space for people to walk through! Even the area in front the stage was fully occupied by people!! When the curtain opened, I was totally like ... "OOOOMMMMGGGGG!!! SO MANY PEOPLE!! @.@" Luckily the spotlight was strong enough that we couldn't really see the audience except the two rows in front.. x_x

Our performance (MR J2 Team) - So You Think You Can't Dance:

Didn't expect it to turn out to be this awesome :D

Another MR team's performance (MR J1 Team) - The sMuRfz:

This is one with higher quality:

MR got second though and BW got first (them again >:/). Hehe .. A lot of people said MR should have got first, being so entertaining and all that (The cheering was the loudest! So loud that we couldn't even carry out the "Surya where are you?" strategy!) and yet ... I admit that I was a bit disappointed but well BW put in hard work too and ultimately it is fun that matters :)

That's the end of the first ever Dancefeste. Like what Cheng Lynn said, "SUCCESS!!! Not determined by end goal but how much you have accomplished ... champs in spirit and always in my heart :D" Joel, Shi Rui, Surya, Dylan, Lynn, Qiao Yoke, Zhi Wen, Steph, Sulin, Edith, we rock! MR ROCKS!!

The not so lonely Valentine's Day 2012

14.2.12

It's Valentine's.. Wasn't expecting anything because no one would bother to give me anything anyway and not that I care.. "Forever alone".. Yea that is how I am.. Have been telling myself I am not gonna start a relationship while I am still in school (and given my personality, not like I can.. haha) My junior whose heart is already occupied asked me why not? Well, studies come first I guess? Getting into a relationship would be like digging my own grave. Can't underestimate the distraction.. So I was also not gonna do anything on Valentine's.. But he said don't want to start a relationship but still can do something what like being nice to girls xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.. OK all those rubbish we talked for 2+ hours on whatsapp..

Anyway, in the morning while I was walking towards the canteen, I could already sense the atmosphere: heart-shaped balloons, bouquets of roses... Well, nothing to do with me.

Below is the conversation I had with one of my OGLings, Ken, that morning:

Ken: "Eh Cheng Cheng today you confirm will receive a lot of stuff la."

Me: "Haha no la no one will give me anything la. Forever alone haha."

Ken: "No la you want to bet anot. If you receive 4 or 5 roses.......

Me: "Okay okay but those from the OG not counted arh.."

Ken: "Aiya....... -.-"

Ooops.. :P

I wasn't supposed to know that because they were planning to prank me like "Wow Cheng Cheng you have a lot of secret admirers arh" and I was supposed to be panic like "Sh*t who are these girls". Too bad :P

Still, the surprise wasn't exactly spoilt.. I was only expecting 4 or 5 roses when Shi Rui (secret santa) handed over 12 for me during break. OMG I was in the middle of a queue and all the people around were staring at me ._. What was I gonna do.....

After the break, I was asking my classmates to accompany me back to class. I was so not going to walk around the school alone with the roses. Even so, I felt awkward because I didn't know how to carry the roses! >< Holding the flowers downwards would be disrespectful; holding it up and I would look like I was going to propose to some girl. Soooo embarrassing x_x

12 roses were all I received (10 girl OGLings + 2 fellow OGLs) - and notes - but they made my day :> Even though the flowers were not from any particular girl that I like, my OGLings made me feel that this Valentine's I was not alone! :D I actually had a really good mood and smiled for the whole day even when I was training! One of the best day in my life. How rare was it when I actually sustained for one WHOLE day?! XD I was gonna get diabetes! My OGLings were too sweet :>

I'storia Day 4

3.2.2012

Time flies! It had come to the last day of orientation :'(

Today the three of us were really damn tired due to the lack of sleep last night. Nevertheless we still came to school early to continue writing our notes and making the gifts (had too many ideas for the gifts and now we couldn't finish, too ambitious ...) ...

So... finished teaching batch dance today and when we returned to the MPH we impromptu-ed the cross gender batchdance (basically means the guys do the girls' part and the girls do the guys' part) and batch dance karaoke version (Jody and Joel sang the batch dance sometimes fast and sometimes slow so we had to dance to their "music"... Glad that the J1s enjoyed it)...

Somehow the OGLings think that I am very slow: "Fast -> slow -> Chengyuen..."

Oh well after that was War Games again!! The most exciting game: Strip Me If You Can! MR not bad grabbed 200+ pegs while the second most house only got 160+.. But heard that this game is gonna be banned next year :( too violent.. Heard that there was one guy this year lost 2 front teeth, another 2 teeth broken and bone fractured... :S Sigh this game really unleashes the inner beast of the girls tsk tsk...

2nd game was "The Sock Game".. I had not have a single idea as of what was it about... Anyway, Yunan and I smeaked back to the MPH to continue... yea yknow.. Guess the OGLings had already realised our constant disappearance... Sigh felt so bad :( Glad that they were very understanding and told us that "it's okay you will be able to finish it..."

Anyway quickly moving on the O'nite! I missed my own O'nite last year and really glad that it was Owesome :D The atmosphere was damn high (so sad that my 2 fellow OGLs were still doing the stuff at the side ):) and guess what? MY OG MR03 GOT BEST DRESS (Bandage - caught the grenade for you and it exploded) AND BEST DANCE (Wei Hing and Dawne!) AWARDS!!! SO PROUD OF THEM!!!! :D

And this is our SnD item - Single Ladies & Roly Poly:

After storyline, everyone moved to the parade square for the finale of the orientation.. I will just skip the less important parts.. Oh yes! MR GOT FIRST WOOHOO!!! (So technically my OG is like trple win hehe :P) GOOD JOB MR!! And yes I'storia was able to be lighted up (heard that last year D'elchanto failed to burn):

It is damn nice ^^

So... after that orientation is over.. :/

^*^

Had debrief and my OGLings waited for us outside Marymount gate for almost half an hour.. Felt so bad to make them keep waiting for us. Gave them the gifts (Actually had some activities planned for them but due to time constraints we could only hand the gifts over to them ..just .. like .. that) and watched the video made by us together..

Suddenly received a call that SnD was having debrief at the canteen so chiong-ed back to the canteen..

Steph and Josh are great people. What they said during debrief really touched all the 24 hearts :') I wanted to hold back my tear because there was no point in crying right :/ But when I saw Yong Xin and Dawn wiping their tears, my tears also started to flow out of my eyes... My fellow OGL told me that the OG was still waiting for me. I wanted to tell them that they could leave first, but it was so hard to form a complete sentence then, because I was so afraid that I would really burst out crying if I were to continue talking. I don't know, somehow SnD really meant a lot to me.. It has occupied a big part of my orientation journey and I really appreciate everything that's happened in SnD.. :') Yes there are some people in the comm who are a bit err *** and whom I am not very close to but there are also a lot of really nice and awesome people... Can't believe that it was all over.. Yes Josh, "I believe that this will always have a special place in our hearts, because it's our Song, it's our Dance." Gave everyone a great hug before leaving to join my OG. Thank you SnD :'D

From SnD :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Had very serious withdrawal syndrome, affected me for the next few days. It was like so much effort and time put into orientation and *ding* it's over :/ Well every story has an end and that was the end of the story of I'storia.. Reality is cruel but there's where we belong..

Looking back, I think we OGLs have really done a more than awesome job in making this orientation a really great start for the J1s, giving a really huge impact on them. Like what Theophilus said, "Guys we did it!" Indeed, the magic worked to its fullest potential. It is really touching and heart-warming to see the posts posted on facebook by the OGLs about the OGLings' comments such as "... it is something to be grateful for because when else in your life do you have a team of people so dedicated working hard you happy for 4 days..." "... the first time since I came to Singapore I truly feel like home.. " :')

The experience was so great even for us OGLs that most of us wanted Jaslyn "The Miss Universe (China)" to make new wish that "we all could travel back in time to the day before orientation" instead of "all men can pregnant".. It was really the best memories in my RJ life..

The next day I wrote a super long facbook note for my fellow SnD members.. Basically I just recounted everything that happened and everything that I felt as well as everything that I appreciated from the day of release of result of accepted OGLs till this very last day of orientation... Thanks Steph and Josh for being such great and enthu ICs; Thanks Jody, Ariel, Xiao Tong, Rachael, Stef, Gi Won, Christine, Rachel, Nadia, Dawn and Shanxi; Thanks Ryan, Fu Kang,Yong Xin, Brandon, Marcus, Joel, Jia Lok, Azaac, Kevin and Benedict. For making my SnD journey wonderful.

"There is a reason why SnD is not exactly the initial of Song and Dance; And there is a reason why Song and Dance is SnD"

And how could I forget about my Owesome fellow OGLs: Elaine and Yunan. Without the two of them, a lot of things won't be possible.. Like gifts, prank calling, placard and videos.. And without them, MR03 might not be so bonded.. I am really very proud of them. Don't you guys think we really have done a great job too? :) Thank you guys :)

And of course, my beloved Owesome OGLings ^^ Guess this appreciation works both ways :) Without you guys, our journey as OGLs won't be complete and we won't have so much fun! Haha you guys are Owesome! (Didn't know Hui Jun dances too! He has been sooooo quiet during orietation... And I really failed ttm for not recognising him as one of the dancers whom we saw during Dec prep ><) Thank you Dawne, Trishala, Rebekah, Melissa, Lisa, Bella, Man Lin, Dayana, Jenn, AndreaWei Hing, Qiwei, Ernest, Ken, Yu Jun, Joel, Hui Jun, Haopu, Giles, Bong, Hongzhi and Zeng Ding. Read the notes you guys gave me. It was really sweeeeet :'>

Best OG MR03 I'd catch a grenade for ya~ :)

Told ya this post will be long :)

I'storia Day 3

2.2.2012

Day 3 EA day!! Taught the batch dance in the morning again! Finished teaching IWEMA and AIL. WOOHOO I got to stay with my OG throughout the whole day!! ALONE!! :D

 I'storia :)

Everything went well today but it rained for a while.. Probably because we didn't do Sundance before we set off XD So we missed the 2nd station but luckily we were able to continue after that.. :) During the break when we were supposed to go for the second station, we just hobo-ed at some MRT staton (can't remember which) and OH MY OGLINGS SO EVIL MADE ME DO SEXY MOVES O.O

#'-'# Ahem.. Anyway my OGLings really damn Owesome!! They actually finished all 20 tasks plus found 2 star snatchers! How Owesome was that! :D And realised that one of my OGLings - Rebekah - has secret talent in sleeping! How many can sleep while standing so still! XD

Oh well we were supposed to be back in school by 5pm but my OG was just walking too SLOW!! And it was already 525pm! Haha told them that the whole Y5s were waiting for us so that they could walked faster.. They ended up running all the way from J8 back to school only to realise that I trolled them (It wasn't entirely intentional XD).. They were gonna kill me HAHA They finally got it back for bullying me jk jk

more photos :)

The OG dinner was really awesome.. They were actually having candlelight dinner at RI canteen.. #cool

nice right? ^^

Later all the girls left only left Dawne and a bunch of guys dancing batch dance in the middle of the canteen.. Really damn funny. WE WERE SO HOBO!! Little did they know that the 3 of us were gonna stay up late to make their gifts... stay up late is an understatement.. We didn't even sleep! (40min maybe)

Oh yea and today is EA day! ... like "Ernest Ang" day!! HAHA Happy Birthday!

I'storia Day 2

1.2.2012

Another exciting day!! :D Taught MR and BB the first (MLJ) and second (IWEMA) batch dance today. My juniors told me that I danced not bad hahaha just that I looked serious on stage o.O I thought I smiled! Really :/ But my junior said dance on stage the expression must be a bit exaggerated eh haha gonna work on my expression some time haha XD

Afternoon was War Game.. Got face-painted.. v

But I felt that it wasn't as fun as our orientation because there was no MUD :( "Mud is good for skin.." quoted from Lin Wen :P Anyway hope the J1s enjoyed it :)

 haha

more photos for Day 2!

Was so tired that night.. Went for OG dinner but wasn't in the mood to play with them.. sigh sorry MR03 :/ After that still had to discuss and get ready the materials to make the gifts.. WHY WE SO HARDCORE! :P

I'storia Day 1

Hey my non-existent readers, I finally have time (not really ^^) to update my long-forgotten blog ^^ My last proper post was on the first day of 2012! It had been very busy since school started because of the orientation and all the school work that I hadn't bothered to catch up. Now finally with orientation over, I've gotta spend more time on my studies so I won't lag behind :( Anyway, I managed to squeeze out a little bit of time from my busy schedule to finish up my posts on I'storia. ^_^

Guess we were the most hardcore OGLs haha started making the gifts and placard for our OGLings since the week before orientation and yet we only managed to finish the placard on the day before orientation itself, not to mention that we only managed to finish the gifts on the last day of orientation. Had been staying till almost 11pm in school every day. This showed how much we love our OGLings XD

The rest of the photos for I'storia prep can be found here :)

Okay now... I'storia Day 1!!  -31.1.2012-

I was really damn excited finally can see our OGLings >< But this day was a bad day because I didn't get to spend time with them! >< Had performance in the morning then deployed for station games all the way till 5pm.. Then still had to go for training :(((  (And I forgot moves and missed beats during Batchdance and Sundance showcase oh man FML... But glad to hear that a lot of the J1s were truly impressed by the showcase :D )

Batchdance showcase and Sundance

Storyline Opening Scene

Hope the pictures help to tell the story :P

More pictures for the first day :)
