Met a friend today who seems to be rather successful in
life. During part of our convo, she said that most people when they meet they
always ask the other person “How are you?” or “How are you doing?”. It is
actually a very bad question to ask because most people would just answer “OK
lo”, “I’m fine” etc. The answers are very superficial because not everybody
likes to talk to others about themselves. “There is this (psychological) game
which allows someone to have a deeper understanding of the other person.” And
she started asking me a series of questions:
1. In the middle of a desert, there is a cube.
Describe the cube. What is its size? Big or small? Is it opaque or transparent?
Is it stuck in the sand or on top of it?
2. There is a horse in the desert. Where is it?
3. There is a ladder somewhere in the desert. Is it
grounded or not?
4. There are actually a lot of flowers in the
desert. Describe the flowers. Are they dull or bright in colour?
5. There is a storm. How bad is the storm? How
widespread is it?
So after summing up my answers, it looks something like
this:
There is a small cube (about the size of a soup bowl) half
buried in the sand, neither very loosely nor tightly stuck. It is 80%
transparent and icy blue in colour. There is a horse quite a distance away
galloping towards the cube. On the back of the horse, there is somebody sitting
on it. He is carrying a ladder just like how a high-jump athlete carries the
pole before he launches. There are five-petal flowers around the cube. The
flowers are brightly coloured, with each flower having a different colour than
the rest. A storm is just right above the cube and it is as widespread as the
flowers.

| Not very well done but that's roughly how I imagined it :) |
I’m not gonna reveal what each thing represents (go figure
out yourself >:)). But I would say that it is rather accurate. And yea my
friend managed to (vaguely) guess what I am going through during this period of
time.
She shared with me a lot of things that she had gone through
this year. And all sounded really amazing! I guess taking action and going out
of her comfort zone are really the key to her success. Wish I could follow her
footstep and make my dream comes true. One more person on the list of people
that I admire haha!
