ALP'14——終わり

So here comes the end of the ALP trip! Being a school-related (or work-related) trip, as usual, we had to submit stuff near the end of the trip. So what we need to submit this time were a 10-page report, a 1-page product description and a 1x1.8m poster. Let's not go into the boring details of what and how we did. The final exhibition was three days before flying back to Singapore. And as ambitious as the overall teacher-in-charge is, news press were invited for the final exhibition!

Our group was interviewed by quite a number of reporters and some of them even requested us to fly the quad! Luckily we just had to fly it manually and make sure that we didn't crash. We didn't have to use the "follow me" function because (i) it was raining and cloudy -> no GPS (ii) we were flying indoor -> no GPS (iii) the function is rather unstable and none of us dare to use it ... yet. Will continue to explore on this function when we get back to Singapore though.

Anyway, one moment to be proud of was when one of the reporters requested us to fly the quad, our mentors asked us to just try flying in front of our booth. OMG the space is so limited and I really didn't think I was skilled enough, but anyway I was forced to be the pilot because (i) somebody didn't dare to do it (ii) and I am a guy ... OK so I literally had to 厚著臉皮 arm the quad andddd push the throttle. The quad flew anddddd ... it didn't crash :) I managed to control the quad and make sure that it stayed in midair exactly at where it was supposed to be. But I did really put 200% of my concentration there to control it. I couldn't even reply when somebody beside me was asking me a question. At first I thought that was all, but our teacher asked me to fly the second time (OMG! *cold sweat*) to show our own SUTD staff. OK fine, I was damn worried, but I managed to do just the same as the first time. Thanks to Zheng Kang, I got applause from the audience hahaha CHEAP THRILL!

Guess this concludes the ALP journey!

But before ending this post, I would really like to thank a few groups of people:

First, of course this group of fun and awesome people who went through all the shit with me. Special thanks to our boss!

ALP'14 1-4!

This group of people who spent most of the time traveling together!

And us who spent 99% of the time travelling together!

This trip was really a beginning of quite a few things for me. First would be the starting of postcard collection! HAHA! Can't really stop now after I bought so many. Second would be my love for nature! China (at least the places that I visited and stayed) greenery is so, for a lack of a better vocab, awesome that it planted the seed of love for nature in me HAHAHA! And third, I start to love wooden stuff too! Wooden stuff really gives off a vibe that none other materials can compare ... ok maybe glass is an exception haha.

The few of us agreed that if we have the chance, we would come back to Hangzhou, and Hangzhou only, for either work or internship. This place is too chill we really cannot tank!

The weekend before the final submission. By right I was not supposed to go travelling anymore because the schedule was a bit tight. I was quite troubled at first because on one end, it was not very good to leave all the work to my group mates, but on the other end I probably won't have anymore chance to go Huangshan! So ... I didn't inform my teacher and just left for Huangshan with my friends, of course after getting approval from my group mates (they were so awesome :')!) And I really glad that I did!

The Huangshan clique

Huangshan Day 1

Huangshan Day 2
