8.12.12 Saturday
Found this "sort-of-incomplete" diary I wrote during 2010 Changchun trip while I was packing. Leaving boarding tmr. Yup following are the updates:
14.11.10 Sunday
Location: Beijing
Weather: cold - around 18 degree Celcius
(At Beijing airport I think) I couldn't help shivering..
Location: Changchun
Weather: very cold - temperature: negative value
@ At 長春龍嘉機場,曲柯宇 saw me and called my name. I was very surprised because I have never expected him to remember me. After all, I spent most of the time with the girls (ahem ..) when they came over to RI in July.
@ Walked out of the airport, wow! It was freezing cold! We could "smoke without cigarettes" ... I wanted to take a picture of us 吞雲吐霧 but unfortunately the battery of my camera died due to the very low temperature. (was it just me or my language was really poor? somehow I find it awkward haha.. well, it was written 2 years ago :P)
@ First time I see snow!
@ The welcoming lunch was luxurious! Lobster, huge fish and some other dishes that we had no idea of what they were! This lunch made the welcoming lunch back there in RI look worthless ... However, only 李鵬老師,XXX校長(還是副校長?),曲柯宇 and another student joined us for the lunch. Unlike in RI where all the buddies joined them for the welcoming lunch.
@ traffic lights are kinda useless because no one really cares.
@ 王皓辰 is my buddy
@ walked back to his house as he stayed near school
@ There was another girl who walked together with me, 姜佳慧. She is the monitor of my buddy's class.
@ We walked past the 文化廣場 which is just beside the school
@ There is a giant TV in the 文化廣場
@ My buddy also told me that some of the buildings in the city were there since the Japanese colonised this place, eg. 第一醫院
@ I like the city. It looks very wide and comfortable.
@ The sky starts to get dark around 4pm
@ Walking on the layer of ice needs skill. Be aware of slipping!
@ First time saw a frozen lake.
@ Had snow fight with 皓辰. It was fun but my feet and hands froze to numbness.
@ The family stays in a building (something like "rumah pangsa") which looks very old. But never judge a book by its cover. The interior of the house is wide and beautiful!
@ They thought we are totally westernised - only western food like steak etc. but not Chinese food. They also thought that I couldn't use chopsticks and speak Chinese - They thought Malaysians can't speak Chinese.
@ At night bed time, it was very quiet. I missed the sound of the fan spinning at night!
15.11.10 Monday
Location: Changchun
Weather: very cold - around -7 degree Celcius
@ Carrying out the English lessons was quite fun when the students were more willing to participate in the activities. Even though we had the lesson plan, some of the time we had to impromptu so as to cheer up the atmosphere or to explain the meanings or concepts of the words more clearly. Proud of myself that I could suddenly come out with the idea of Ah Ming to explain the idea of "conclusion". (hmmm.. whatever that is ..) Though I wasn't sure if it got the result/outcome as expected. Hopefully tomorrow's Maths lessons will be better.
@ Attended one period of history lesson. It was about 紅軍、革命英雄主義精神、戰略轉移 etc. which I didn't fully understand. Anyway, I dislike history.
@ Visited the school's toilet, wow it was scary! no toilet paper, no water tap in the cubicle and the pieces of wood that separate the cubicles are so low that the people inside can see each other. That is really weird!
@ 王皓辰 told me some tales about dumplings.
@ Chuan Kai's buddy, 肖博予 said he is the top badminton player in Changchun and wants to challenge me. Tomorrow I am gonna have a friendly game with him after school. Hope I can still play well though. After all I haven't been training for quite a while.
Ooops guess I only recorded the first two days in Changchun, China. :P
