A late update on 2010 Changchun OIP

8.12.12 Saturday

Found this "sort-of-incomplete" diary I wrote during 2010 Changchun trip while I was packing. Leaving boarding tmr. Yup following are the updates:

14.11.10 Sunday
Location: Beijing
Weather: cold - around 18 degree Celcius

(At Beijing airport I think) I couldn't help shivering..

Location: Changchun
Weather: very cold - temperature: negative value

@ At 長春龍嘉機場,曲柯宇 saw me and called my name. I was very surprised because I have never expected him to remember me. After all, I spent most of the time with the girls (ahem ..) when they came over to RI in July.

@ Walked out of the airport, wow! It was freezing cold! We could "smoke without cigarettes" ... I wanted to take a picture of us 吞雲吐霧 but unfortunately the battery of my camera died due to the very low temperature. (was it just me or my language was really poor? somehow I find it awkward haha.. well, it was written 2 years ago :P)

@ First time I see snow!

@ The welcoming lunch was luxurious! Lobster, huge fish and some other dishes that we had no idea of what they were! This lunch made the welcoming lunch back there in RI look worthless ... However, only 李鵬老師,XXX校長(還是副校長?),曲柯宇 and another student joined us for the lunch. Unlike in RI where all the buddies joined them for the welcoming lunch.

@ traffic lights are kinda useless because no one really cares.

@ 王皓辰 is my buddy

@ walked back to his house as he stayed near school

@ There was another girl who walked together with me, 姜佳慧. She is the monitor of my buddy's class.

@ We walked past the 文化廣場 which is just beside the school

@ There is a giant TV in the 文化廣場

@ My buddy also told me that some of the buildings in the city were there since the Japanese colonised this place, eg. 第一醫院

@ I like the city. It looks very wide and comfortable.

@ The sky starts to get dark around 4pm

@ Walking on the layer of ice needs skill. Be aware of slipping!

@ First time saw a frozen lake.

@ Had snow fight with 皓辰. It was fun but my feet and hands froze to numbness.

@ The family stays in a building (something like "rumah pangsa") which looks very old. But never judge a book by its cover. The interior of the house is wide and beautiful!

@ They thought we are totally westernised - only western food like steak etc. but not Chinese food. They also thought that I couldn't use chopsticks and speak Chinese - They thought Malaysians can't speak Chinese.

@ At night bed time, it was very quiet. I missed the sound of the fan spinning at night!

15.11.10 Monday
Location: Changchun
Weather: very cold - around -7 degree Celcius

@ Carrying out the English lessons was quite fun when the students were more willing to participate in the activities. Even though we had the lesson plan, some of the time we had to impromptu so as to cheer up the atmosphere or to explain the meanings or concepts of the words more clearly. Proud of myself that I could suddenly come out with the idea of Ah Ming to explain the idea of "conclusion". (hmmm.. whatever that is ..) Though I wasn't sure if it got the result/outcome as expected. Hopefully tomorrow's Maths lessons will be better.

@ Attended one period of history lesson. It was about 紅軍、革命英雄主義精神、戰略轉移 etc. which I didn't fully understand. Anyway, I dislike history.

@ Visited the school's toilet, wow it was scary! no toilet paper, no water tap in the cubicle and the pieces of wood that separate the cubicles are so low that the people inside can see each other. That is really weird!

@ 王皓辰 told me some tales about dumplings.

@ Chuan Kai's buddy, 肖博予 said he is the top badminton player in Changchun and wants to challenge me. Tomorrow I am gonna have a friendly game with him after school. Hope I can still play well though. After all I haven't been training for quite a while.

Ooops guess I only recorded the first two days in Changchun, China. :P

First Ever RJBT Outing

4.12.12

Thanks to Kern Hong who "happened to have no food in his room and happened to look for food in my room", we managed to have a RJBT'12 outing at Sentosa. It was an awesome outing even though not everybody managed to turn up.

At first I was worried that the outing might be boring as I really had no idea what we were going to do at the beach although we brought along a ball and a frisbee disc. Like really, what is there to do at the beach man? But we ended up enjoying the whole morning playing frisbee and ball in the sea. Phew, thanks guys for being sporty :)

More importantly, because of this outing, we talk again, as if there was nothing happening between us. Well, at least this drama ended on a good note!

Really happy to have "organised" this outing. It makes me realise (I always know) how much I miss the team, really. I am really really glad to see the team today! :)

ps: I am like a lobster now.

I Am Not Mocking!

Recently, a friend of mine who was from the national badminton team was giving out his badminton shirt (named and not named) because his wardrobe overflowed. Being my opponent and friend, I asked for his shirt. To me, getting a named shirt of my friends implies that I am proud to have a friend like this and part of me hope that I will never forget this friend. There isn't anything related to whether you are pro-er or lousier, which I think that is what most other people think. When I asked for their named shirts, both this friend from the national team and my junior said the same thing (jokingly of course), "you serious arh? don't mock me leh.." Haha, so is that how all other players think when they exchange shirts: "this guy is strong, I want his named shirt..." ?? Haha well I don't really care about this, that I know. I want the shirts because I really appreciate the friendships.

Anyway, As OVERRRR!!

I Can Smell The Freedom

My A-levels exam is ending in three days time! (Poor Bio kids haha) There are only the last two papers left: Chem and Physics MCQs. ... Buttt, most people have already been playing as though As are already over! And I haven't been doing anything useful ever since my last paper on last Tuesday except one or two practices.

While I hope that 28.11.12 1515 comes asap, it also occurs to me that after that day at exactly that time, there will be no more mugging in the canteen and no more school uniform until perhaps when uni starts. What am I gonna do then? Read the whole day? Watch videos the whole day? Go out with friends every single day? Nah, I rather spend time outdoor than reading the whole day. The speed of downloading videos may not be able to match my speed of watching them. And I don't really think I have so many friends to hang out with everyday .. hmmm I guess. Perhaps I should just be a good boy and start cleaning my room and packing. Whatttt a chore. If I ever gonna have the mood to start doing it.

But life after leaving boarding will be much exciting! Finally after 4 years I will be leaving RIB aka "jail" and there will be NO MORE CURFEW! Gonna stay over at my friends' places and friends gonna stay over at my place (Yes, in Ipoh.). Plans settled all the way till next year. Just thinking about it makes me hope that NOW THIS DAY THIS TIME AT THIS MOMENT it is already 28.11.12 1515.

Haha freedom is near.

One Day Before As

4.11.12 Sunday

TIME FLIES! It feels like Prelims was just over and now As is starting tomorrow! On one hand I kept getting worried about the GP papers tomorrow: What if out of the 12 essay questions I can't even do any of them? What if I can't answer the AQ? What if ... But on the other hand, I have kinda given up studying already -_- Sigh, 船到桥头自然直 ba..

Malaysian juniors had a farewell party for the J2s yesterday night.. It made me feel so regret to not have spent more time with them throughout the 2-3 years.. I should have realised that the Malaysian community should be given the top priority, because there is where all our people, all Malaysians, are.. Not saying that I shouldn't mix around with people in school, but this shouldn't be the priority, right? Haha I don't know.. Things are over and there is no point being regret over it. Just bear in mind next time that what is really the most important thing that I want (though I have told myself this N times) .. Anyway, I did make close friends in these four years, right? (say yes ^_^)

I sometimes just can't accept that 4 years have passed and it is time to say good bye! Really wish that I could spend more time in school .. True, studies have stressed us into craziness, but amidst all the busy schedules, have we not had fun with the people around us, have we not spent our valuable time with our loved ones, have we not had those memories with our friends which we might (or might not) cherish for the rest of our life?

RJBT juniors are another group of people whom I really don't feel like leaving.. As I mentioned in my previous post, somehow I feel really close to RJBT'12, a team that really gave me the sense of belonging to a team. While there are quite a number of arguments, cold wars and times when I get pissed with certain people, I guess that doesn't affect how much I like the team la really ^_^ Just feeling a bit sad that I probably won't be seeing them soon :( [And I wonder how long he wants the cold war to continue? Does he have to do this to me in my last year? I am leaving school soon :(]

Well, thinking about after As, there will be hell lots of fun! Gotta hobo at different people's houses and have plans for things that I don't get to do when I am still in boarding!

Excited and looking forward to after As already!

KK time to get back to mugging.
